East Greenland opens up to a few elite visitors in the late summer
when  the sea ice melts enough to let the ship through.
The fiords engulf the ship with mountainsides 2000m high;
glaciers fall in frozen rivers to the sea.
The ship sails for days far inland alongside mountains
scattered with musk ox and low growing beech and willows
brilliant in autumn hues of crimson, scarlet and gold.

We can walk for hours in pristine country or sit in the stillness.

Along the coast we visit the isolated villages of the Inuit.

But the greatest attraction for Alwyn is the icebergs - sometimes
towering 100 metres above the ship, opaquely white or glistening blue.
